Daddy Appreciation Night

So, when you're on bed rest with a 15 month old, Daddy ends up being mommy, daddy, hubby, and wife!

EXHAUSTING, I'm sure!

So to show him our appreciation for all that he did for 2 weeks (and still does!), we planned a fabulous night of appreciation and pampering complete with clues, cards, and gifts.

Here's how to have one of your own on a TINY budget!

I used some stationary I already had and compiled 4 Appreciation cards with clues to the next one on the inside.

Appreciation #1
You're One Hot Daddy!
gift: some new Abercrombie swimsuits for our upcoming Hawaii trip (Lord knows he needed new ones to be the hottest daddy on the beach!!). They were normally really expensive and happened to be on sale for $18.50 since it's the end of the season. They had a ton to choose from still in the store so he got 2.

Appreciation #2
The Great Provider!
gift: I had raked up some reward points on our Discover card so I cashed some of them in for a $50 gift certificate to Outback Steakhouse to take him out to eat cash-free.

Appreciation #3
Most Fun Dad Ever!
gift: Savannah got to show off and play with daddy in her brand new "I Love Dad" jammies. She needed some long sleeved jammies for the fall/winter anyway so Daddy themed pjs were the way to go.

Appreciation #4
Our Hero!
gift: a while back I had received a coupon through email for a FREE Snapfish hardcover photo book (Yes I said FREE! Get on their mailing list - I get free codes all the time) and made one detailing Savannah's first year of life with her daddy. Definitely came in handy for such a time as this :)

So, throw an Appreciation Night for the daddy in your life and revel in the smiles you'll get in return!

Radio Flyer Orange

Remember this?

I decided it needed to be updated for fall, so I took my handy dandy helper out for her first gardening experience.

And since you can't tell...I was on bed rest so really I did nothing but snap photos while my mom and Savannah did all the work :)

And apparently I was more focused on taking pictures of my sweetie pie than the flowers, so I apologize for the lack of beautiful project photography.

You can see a full How To here, but after removing all the dead geraniums, I kindly asked mom to plant the golden orange mums I bought at Lowe's for $0.88 each. I got 12 to make it full but still give them room to grow.

Hmmm, what to do for Christmas???

Savannah's First Wedding

We were invited to some friend's wedding and it was a day event so we thought it would be a good opportunity for us to take our little tyke along on her first wedding adventure.

We had received the perfect dress for an occasion such as this from cousins Raymond and Ashley at a baby shower over a year ago.

A beautiful dress!
