What a mess.

I'm easily paralyzed by chaos and I just

STOP TRYING.

The funny thing is that I'm completely anal, borderline OCD, completely obsessive about being organized. An organized space with matching bins (preferably color-coded) and neatly folded stacks or well aligned piles is heaven to me.

That's why my sewing room needed a serious PICK UP!

It doubles as the guest room...poor guests...which makes it even harder to organize in an aesthetically pleasing fashion while still being functional. If I had unlimited funds I would surly splurge on an amazing, magazine worthy craft room.

But I don't.

So just for my own sanity, here is the before and after of my sewing-room-pick-up project.

I welcome ANY organizational tips!

Oh the Places You'll Go

Once again, I caught Savannah red-handed...

There's nothing dangerous in a bathroom cabinet, right?

For some reason, I guess we're just opposed to those pesky cabinet latches that keep babies safe. She looks happy :)

Pray Without Ceasing

Prayers for Stellan

An amazing, heartbreaking, transparent family in desperate need of prayer.

History Nerds

Chris and I enjoyed a baby free weekend to go to a friend's wedding in Columbia, so along the way we decided to stop off at the state capitol in Jefferson City to do a little historical site-seeing.

I had been making fun of Chris for wanting to do this, but it was surprisingly fun and interesting.

Maybe the fact that it was just us,
maybe that the weather was PERFECT,
maybe that it just really was interesting.

I recommend a visit to the Missouri State Museum.

And take notice of all the references to the Lord, God, and Christianity! Our society today tries to push those fundamental values into hiding, but it's impossible to resist when you dive into our nation's history...

2 Firsts

So there were 2 monumental firsts this weekend!

One to celebrate...
and one to correct!

#1: We were at a friend's house on Friday night, with all the men and Savannah gathered in the living room before dinner, while the women were naturally in the kitchen preparing. So typical. What's not so typical is the all of a sudden manly cheer that came from the boy-filled living room. Then immediately following I hear my husband's voice, "She walked!!"

REALLY?

I spend 11+ hours alone with this child every single day, and she chooses the tiny minute she's out of my presence to do something so adorable and huge and that only happens once? Yay for daddy; boo for mommy! But life changing...right?

#2: Upon returning from a lovely mom and dad only weekend today, I was greeted by Nana and Grandpa, who kept baby for the weekend...with a story. In the church nursery this morning a sweet, innocent child decided my baby's legs were in his path and so proceeded to crawl over her little chubs. Apparently my perfect little Savannah wasn't so keen on the idea and with all her might (and her 1 and a 1/2 teeth) attacked the little boy with her mouth.

REALLY?

I'm gonna have one of those biting children. She's gonna be "that" kid...

New Obstacle Conquered

I caught my little poot trying to get into her pretty pink chair this afternoon, so I quickly snapped some shots of the process...and quite the process it was.

But once she was all settled, she sat and admired her hair bow...for at least 15 minutes!
